For the longest time, Yoga has been used as a mean of relaxation and as time has passed, it has become a sport that tests your physical as well as your mental strength. There are over 300 positions to perfect in the yoga practice, but there are some basic ones that can help you start out on the right path.

  • Downward Facing Dog

    Get down on all fours with your wrists under your shoulders and knees under your hips. Make sure to tuck under your toes and lift your hips off the floor as you bring them back towards your heels. If your hamstrings are tight, then bend your knees a little.

  • Plank

    Plank is something that is used at every sport, everywhere. It derived from yoga and is a great way to strengthen your core and improve your balance. When you are on all fours, tuck under your toes and lift your legs off of the mat. Adjust your position until you feel as if you are in a straight line.

  • Triangle

    This pose stretches the sides of the waist and opens up your lungs! Stand with your feet one legs length apart as you open and stretch your arms to the sides at shoulder height. Make sure you turn your right foot out 90 degrees and your left foot in 45 degrees.
